The L-5 was originally designed by Lloyd Loar and introduced in 1922 as an acoustic archtop guitar. Since then, the L-5 has continued to evolve while changing specifications, and as for the electric model, it has been used by many famous guitarists including Wes Montgomery, the famous jazz guitarist.

The L-5 is 17 inches wide, and its body shape is based on the flat-top flagship model, the J-200, which is smaller than the 18-inch Super 400, but Japanese players may find the ES-175 and other 16-inch wide models easier to handle. is easier to handle for Japanese people.

Some of you may feel a sense of discomfort when you see the L-5 body and Super400 neck design. This model was made before the same type of Super V that was introduced to the lineup in 1978.

Judging from the serial number, it was made between 1970 and 1975, before the Super V. The body material is spruce.

The body is made of spruce top, maple sides and back, and all solid wood. The guitar is gorgeous at first glance, with multiple bindings, ebony fingerboard, block inlays, and gold hardware.

The pickups are "sticker numbered PAF" with the patent number written on the decal.

The replacement parts are pickguard, truss rod cover (original is included), ABR-1, and 4 knobs. To attach the original cover, it is necessary to modify it again.

The escutcheon on the bridge side has been removed and the wood has been filled in, and the hole is visible, although it is hard to see. One of the rear screws is missing.

The pickguard has also been replaced. (The position of the holes has also been changed.)

The electrical system has been kept original, with no unnatural hardness and excellent reproduction ability to capture the tone as imagined by the player. The tone is very deep and has a wonderful depth of tone that can only be achieved with a Gibson.

There are some scratches and dings commensurate with its age, but playability is good.
