USED FENDER / 1966 Mustang Red -B Neck- [05]

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1966 Fender Mustang.

The Fender Student Model Mustang was introduced in 1965.
The short scale 22-fret version is equipped with the most effective dynamic vibrato in Fender's history.
Each pickup has an on/off switch instead of a selector.
A phase out is also possible, giving the output a wide variety of sound variations.

The neck date of this guitar is "6JUN66B", which indicates that it is a '66 B neck, and the pickups are also '66 gray bobbins.
The volume side of the pots are soldered and cannot be confirmed, but the tone side is '66. Both pots are made by CTS and were manufactured for Fender.

The capacitor is a Circle D. The on/off and pickguard are also original. The dynamic vibrato is before the patent number was stamped.

The F-key pegs are also original, with the shaft visible through the cover.

The decal on the head is from the 8th period, which was used in late '66." The decal on the head is from the 8th period, when the "OFFSET Contour Body" was used.
The decal was discontinued in late '66, and the dynamic vibrato on the bridge was also stamped with a patent number, so this is a rare specs item from the transitional period.

The neck pocket has a wooden shim glued to the side of the 6th string side, which was probably installed at the Fender factory to correct the difference in height between the 1st string side and the 6th string side during the body painting process.
The end shims have been changed from the original.

The nut had already been replaced from the original when it arrived at our store, and since it was defective, it was newly made at the repair workshop.

The entire body shows signs of having been over-lacquered.
The transmission system is mostly original, and the jack is probably original as well, judging from the color of the solder on the pots, etc. The frets are more than 50 years old.

The frets are low due to the fact that it has been over 50 years since it was manufactured, but there are no major problems at present.
The fretboard has been checked and adjusted by a professional repair person after arrival, and is in good playing condition.
