This 2010 model with serial number 10-169673 and Private Stock number 3082 was made for NAMM 2011.

Paying homage to electric guitar great Ted McCarty, the McCarty model embodies the latest PRS discoveries and looks back to the golden age of the guitar. The tone produced by the slightly thicker body width than the Custom, brass PRS stop tailpiece, and other features show the great respect McCarty's name had for vintage guitars.

The body top is made of Quilted Maple and the body back is made of figured Mahogany with beautiful grain. As you can see, the grade of the wood is very high, and you will be satisfied just by looking at it. Figured Mahogany is used for the neck. The fingerboard is made of Madagascar Roewood.

The pickups are the "57/08" which pursues the vintage sound of the PRS style, and the "59/09" which is also called "the PAF of the PRS style" because of its bright and punchy sound. The "57/08" pickup is inspired by the 1957 humbucker and uses an alnico 2 magnet to produce a modern classic sound. It has a very manageable tone. The "59/09" pickup is inspired by 1959 humbuckers and uses an Alnico 2 magnet for a clear sound that can be used for a wide range of sounds from clean to drive. The "59/09" has an Alnico 2 magnet that produces a clear, articulate sound that can be used for everything from clean to drive. The volume and tone can be adjusted to produce subtle tones as well.

The neck shape is "Wide Fat". The neck shape is moderately thick and has a good grip without making it difficult to play.

The sound is different from the model equipped with tremolo unit, and the punch and power of the bass sound is tremendous at the point of raw sound. There are some parts that are scratched, but there are few dents and scratches, and it is in beautiful condition considering its age. Of course, the playability is good, including the truss rod.
