USED Gibson / 1981 ES-335 DOT Kalamazoo Sunburst [05]

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1981 ES-335.

Since its birth in 1958, the company's popular semi-acoustic model has undergone various changes.
The 1981 ES-335 in stock has been changed from the specifications up to the 1970s to vintage-inspired specs with the aim of returning to its roots in response to calls for the sound of the early 3335s.

The head shape was changed from large to small. The volute on the neck has been eliminated and replaced with a smooth finish.
The nut width is 43mm, slim but with moderate thickness for easy gripping.

Both pickups are original with engraved numbered PAF. Pegs are also original milk bottle.
The sticker inside the F-hole also confirms that it is made in Kalamazoo.
The model name on the sticker is ES-335 DOT, and since DOT was introduced in late 1981 as a successor of ES-335TD, it is known that this is also a late 1981 model.

The frets and nut have been changed from the original, the bridge is made by GOTOH, and the tailpiece is believed to be original.
The control knobs are also not all original and seem to be relatively recent parts.
The frets remain firm and high, and the playing condition is good.

It is in good playing condition and has been overhauled and cared for for a long time.

This is one of the unique pieces from this transitional period, when a variety of specifications existed.
Recommended for those who are looking for a vintage 335 that can be obtained without hesitation.
