This model was released in 1959 and is popular for its simple design with deeper jointed neck than ES-335, P-90 pickups, trapeze tailpiece, ornamentless headstock, etc. The serial number "S28~" is almost gone, but it was made in 1959. The serial number is "S28-", but it was made in 1959.

The ES-330 is built with 16 frets, which makes the neck look shorter, but it is 24 3/4" scale with 22 frets, which is the same specification as the ES-335.
