USED Gibson / J-160E 1968 [05]

Gibson J-160E made in 1968 is now in stock.
The "J-160E" was used by many musicians and became a famous instrument.
This is one of the most popular J-160E made in the late 60's, 1968.

The combination of the jumbo body and ladder bracing, which can be said to be unique to the J-160E, produces a pleasant sound with a crisp, dry, raw tone.

A "P90" is mounted on the fretboard side of the soundhole, and the guitar can be used as a hollowbody electric guitar. The neck joint is set at the 15th fret, which allows the guitar to be played in the high position to some extent.

This new arrival was made in 1968. It is not in good condition, but it is one that has retained its playability.

The top of the bridge is deformed to lean forward toward the soundhole due to the ladder bracing, although thick top wood is used.

Therefore, the adjustable saddle has been lowered, and the first string has been shaved to further lower the string height, and the pickguard has been replaced. The bridge is slightly peeled off on the body end side, but it can be used without any problem.

There is a stand mark on the back of the neck at the 10th fret, which is touched when playing in the high position, but there is no particular problem in playing. The neck has been reset and is in flat condition with no warping or twisting.

The back of the neck has had 4 cracks repaired from the 6th string side to the 1st string side. The second bracing on the top of the back bracing has been filled with putty to fix the cracks, and the bottom bracing has been re-glued.

This vintage 1968 J-160E in player's condition has excellent sound and playability, and is highly recommended for those who want to use it hard.
