USED KAMAKA / Late 1920s Soprano Pineapple [05]

Vintage pineapple ukulele from the late 1920s is now in stock!

This pineapple shape, now a standard, was actually patented by Kamaka during this period and was an original shape at the time.
Since there is no patent number on the inner label, it was manufactured just before the patent was granted.

There are several crack repair marks on the top and back of the body, and the lower right part of the top has been repaired with buried wood.

The original neck angle is shallow, so the string height is high, and the sound of the koa wood body is loud and boomy, which is different from the recent pine type.

Also, most of the pineapple decals on the head surface have been removed.

It may not be the most flattering instrument to use, but it is one that you will want to touch for its long ukulele history.
