"Dead Spec" SILVER SKY John Mayer Signature Model in used condition!

"Dead Spec" Silver Sky is a heavily modified version of John Mayer's Silver Sky from Dead & Company's last tour, and is the main instrument of Jerry Garcia, lead guitarist and vocalist for the now deceased The Grateful Dead (now Dead & Compa-ny). The "Dead Spec" Silver Sky is a tribute to the sound of the "Alligator", the main guitar of Jerry Garcia, lead guitarist and vocalist of the late The Grateful Dead (now Dead & Company).

The "Dead Spec" Silver Sky features a lightweight swamp ash body instead of the traditional alder, and a Moc Sand Satin lacquer finish that is thin enough to allow the grain to be seen. The body is made of lightweight swamp ash instead of alder. The Gen III tremolo unit, a PRS original design with a brass tremolo block, is mounted directly on the body for use as a hard tail. The use of a brass nut and string retainers also makes it possible to produce an even warmer and more musical sound than the regular Silver Sky.

One of the most notable updates to the "Dead Spec" Silver Sky is the jack plate, which has been replaced with a brass jack plate with an Alembic Blaster preamp. This not only produces a punchy sound with a sense of separation, but also helps compensate for the low frequencies lost when using long shields. * When switched off, the preamp is bypassed.
