5年ほど前にわずか3本のみ制作された Classic J が奇跡の新品同様の中古で入荷しました。
ボディにはスワンプアッシュの「なんと1ピース」 ネックにはローステッドメイプルを用い安定性はお墨付き。
アクティブにはペンザ・サー時代にも使用されていた、ベースはブーストのみトレブルはブースト/カット という仕様、ピックガードにはビンテージのテレキャスター「ブラックガード」に用いられたベイクライドを使用し、ただのカスタム J とは一線を隠すオーラを放ちます。
メイプルのドットポジション、ナチュラルフィニッシュのアッシュボディ、60年代初期を思わせる「ブレードカット」されたコンターとエルボなど、フェンダーの歴史には登場しなかった仕様を、あえて組み合わせるところがニクいところであります。
指板ラディアスは 7.25、フレットにはステンレススティールの ミディアム、どのポジションでもストレス無く演奏に集中できるお手本のような feelはさすがのJST 製作。
ブリッジはビンテージを周到しスパイラルサドルのGOTOH VINTAGE、チューニングマシンはHIPSHOT チューニングの安定度も心配なし。
サドウスキーともコッポロとも全く違う John Suhr によるアクティブ J Bass のひとつの到達点となります。

Only 3 Classic J's produced in the last 5 years are now in stock, and they are miraculously like new.
The body is made of one-piece swamp ash, and the neck is made of roasted maple.
The pickguard is made of Bayglide, which was used in the vintage Telecaster "Blackguard," and it has an aura that sets it apart from other Custom J's. The pickguard is made of maple with dot positions and a natural finish.
The maple dot positions, natural finish ash body, "blade-cut" contours and elbows reminiscent of the early 60's, and other specifications that have never appeared in Fender's history, are all combined to create a unique look.
The fretboard radius is 7.25, and the frets are medium stainless steel.
The bridge is a GOTOH VINTAGE with spiral saddle, and the tuning machine is a HIPSHOT.
This is one of the achievement of John Suhr's active J Bass, which is completely different from Sadowski and Koppolo.
This is one of the hard-to-find J Bass.
