This 1959 Les Paul Standard 60th Anniversary model is a 2019 instrument. It features a top hand-selected at the Gibson Custom Shop and aged by Tom Murphy, making it a truly premium piece.

More than 25 years have passed since the Custom Shop first introduced its Historic Reissue series, and 2019 marks the 60th anniversary of the original 1959 vintage model. The 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Standard is crafted not only as a tribute to the ultimate 1959 Les Paul Standard but also as a faithful clone of the vintage original.

From the precise measurement data obtained by scanning vintage instruments to the vintage replica parts recreated through material composition analysis, and the reproduction of the striking variations in the sunburst pattern—every detail reflects the pinnacle of the technical expertise accumulated and refined by the Custom Shop over decades, resulting in a guitar released as the ultimate 1959 Les Paul Standard.

It features the traditional Gibson logo, matching inlays, a non-potted Custom Backer, vintage-curve pots, Luxe Bumblebee capacitors, and True Historic parts.

Additionally, this instrument is a “Hand-Selected” model (with a Hand-Selected certificate) featuring a Tom Murphy-aged, hand-selected top.

Due to the aging process, it is difficult to assess the exact signs of use, but it remains in relatively good condition. Of course, playability—including the truss rod—is excellent. Another key point not to be overlooked is that it comes with a full set of accessories.
