USED Gibson Custom / 1983 Explorer Korina [05]

A 1983 Gibson Custom Shop Explorer Korina has arrived!!

Serial No.: 80283510—this 1983 model features a Custom Shop Edition decal.

This is a limited-production Custom Shop model crafted with Korina wood, inspired by the original 1958 specifications.

The body is made of 3-piece Korina, the neck is also 3-piece Korina, and the fingerboard is rosewood—classic materials. The neck-to-body joint is a deep joint that extends all the way into the cavity. The signature and stamp are still clearly visible inside the cavity.

Both pickups are Tim Shaw PAFs bearing the ’83 stamp. The date on the pots is obscured by solder, but they are likely original. The capacitor and some wiring have been replaced.

Regarding the condition, there is a vertical crack on the body side of the joint. However, the crack is shallow, shows no signs of spreading, and currently poses no issues.

While there are some dents and scratches overall, playability—including the truss rod—is good.

Please consider this opportunity.
