USED FENDER USA / Vintage 1966 Jazz Bass Sunburst [06]

This is a 1966 Jazz Bass with block inlays that exudes classic style.
The body and neck are both covered in dense weather checking, and the bridge fence marks and significant discoloration give it a vintage look that really catches the eye.
There is paint peeling visible around the neck joint and near the rear pickup, exposing the alder wood layer, and there are also some slight gouges in the wood.
The entire instrument has been over-lacquered, and while there are numerous imperfections—including discoloration of the top coat, weather checking, and paint peeling—its condition clearly shows that it has been well-loved and used.

In addition to a noticeable scratch on the horn of the 4th string, English letters—presumably the name of a previous owner—appear when illuminated by a black light.
There is a chip in the headstock logo, and paint discoloration from case storage—primarily on the back of the body and along the outer edges—as well as paint peeling due to wear from use.
The pickguard is shrunk and warped, and additional foam has been added beneath the pickups. The truss rod can be adjusted in both directions.
The nut has been replaced and the frets have been refretted; there is a crack in the 12th-fret inlay; one set screw on the 3rd-string saddle has been replaced; and the bridge cover and pickup fence are missing.
It appears the guitar was used as a left-handed model at one point; an additional strap pin hole has been drilled on the 1st string horn, and there are signs of paint touch-ups around the endpin.
Regarding the pickups: the gray bobbins date to 1966. The wax finish differs between the front and rear pickups, and given the widened bobbin holes, it is believed that both have been rewound and modified.

This model is highly popular among players because it combines the stable low-end typical of ’60s models with extended high-end response, making it suitable for all genres.
