Gibson L-9S "The Ripper Bass" natural, made in 1976.

The Ripper Bass is a 70s Gibson bass along with the Glover Bass and others. Maple body, maple neck, maple fingerboard, Vol/Tone/Mid Control/4-point rotary SW (neck + bridge series/bridge/neck + bridge parallel/neck + bridge phase), 3-point bridge with back-through.

The Ripper bass is known for its wild sound, and its versatile sound variation is also an appealing feature.

The bottom of the nut has been raised, an unused hole has been added to the pickguard around the PU, and the PU screw heads have been licked. The strap pins have been changed. There are some signs of use (missing rod covers, bent/rattling pegs, color fading, scratches on the head end, dents around the perimeter of the body, paint peeling off the side of the fingerboard, paint bumps on the back of the head and joints, minor scratches and scuffs, scuffs and play marks, picking marks, metal parts and screws are cloudy, bits and rust, and other exterior damage). There are some exterior damage. Hard case hardware x1 is broken.

The tuning strings are not super long strings, so only the 4th string is top-loaded. The fretboard has been set up (cleaning, string change, rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, neck ironing, and fret adjustment) upon arrival.
