USED Gibson / J-50 DELUXE (Manufactured circa 1973–75 / Vintage) Gibson Acoustic Guitar J50 [08]

A 1970s Gibson J-50 Deluxe has just arrived!

Like the J-45, the J-50 was introduced in 1942 and has long reigned as the natural-finish version of the J-45.
Initially, it featured round shoulders like the J-45, but it was redesigned with square shoulders in late 1969.
Like the J-45, the model name began to include “DELUXE” until around the mid-1970s.

The square-shouldered body features a spruce top and mahogany sides and back.
The top features double-X bracing, a hallmark of the 1970s, and the guitar is equipped with a belly bridge and a large pickguard.
The mahogany neck, with a 25.5" long scale and a volute, has a rosewood fingerboard and a nut width of approximately 43mm.
The headstock is fitted with tuning machines engraved with “GIBSON DELUXE.”
* The frets have been replaced. The saddle has been replaced.

Since its arrival, it has undergone iron correction, fret leveling, pickguard reinstallation, and binding reattachment.
It has also been serviced at a renowned guitar workshop!
The gap at the neck heel has been filled and repaired; the bridge, which had come loose, has been re-glued and sanded; and the top bracing, which had come loose, has been re-glued and sanded.
The truss rod has been tested up to 60 degrees in both directions and is functioning properly; while the frets are quite low, they remain at a playable level.
The body binding has become tattered due to age, and there is a high likelihood of peeling, missing sections, or chipping in the future.
The saddle is low (it’s best not to file it down any further), so the string action is currently on the high side.
A step has formed along the center seam of the top due to age.
There is paint chipping and slight cracking on the back of the neck.
Overall, there are quite a few scratches, paint chips, cracks, and signs of aging, but there are no issues with playability.

It features a wide, edgy, and loud strumming sound that’s truly captivating!
The mellow mid-range tones resonate beautifully!
