This is the MB-5 Deluxe 60, a popular 5-string active bass model from Bottom Wave.

"Bottom Wave" is the original brand of "Ben Corporation," the Japanese importer for Fodera and Epiphony. Featuring neck binding and block inlays, an alder body and rosewood fingerboard, and a 60s-style design with meticulous attention to pickup placement, this model embodies the spirit of the era.Controls include dual-knob Volume/Tone, a Balancer, Bass, Treble, and an Active/Passive Switch, along with Aero Custom single-coil pickups and a Bottom Wave preamp (18V).

With a 19mm string spacing, this 5-string model offers a seamless transition for players switching from a 4-string guitar. It boasts a wide range of sound variations, a comfortable fit, and excellent playability.

The strap pins have been replaced with Schaller-type pins (no strap hardware on the strap side), and there are signs of use (color fading, minor scratches and scuffs, scuffs and wipe marks, picking marks, tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts, etc.).

It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, neck straightening, and fret leveling). The frets are at a height that poses no issues for playing, and the truss rod has been tested up to 60 degrees in both directions and is in good working order.
