USED LUDWIG / 1970s No. 411 Custom (402) Supraphonic 14x6.5, serial no. 1915340 Radick 1970s Snare Drum [08]

This is a snare drum that has been custom-modified from an LM411 to an LM402.

With serial number 1915340, this is a Super Sensitive 411 believed to have been manufactured in the late 1970s.
and customized to be LM402-equivalent by removing the entire switch assembly.
The 1970s B/O badge is particularly popular among collectors.
The Radialloy—said to be aluminum with a chrome plating—produces
an open, lively tone with pronounced midrange—perfect for rock music.
The switch assembly has been replaced with a P-85, resulting in an open sound similar to that of the 402.

New holes were drilled for the switch replacement, and the original holes are still present.
The top hoop has likely been replaced with one from a different generation.
Otherwise, the shell shows minimal peeling of the plating and is in very good condition considering its age.

Although it’s a modified drum, it comes very close to the 1970s rock sound, and since it’s in such good condition,
it’s a highly practical snare drum.
