A 1970s Acrolite in player's condition

Based on the serial number, this is believed to be a mid-1970s model of the Ludwig 404—a classic model widely regarded as a legendary aluminum snare drum.

Boasting a history of nearly 50 years, the dry sustain produced by its seamless aluminum shell and
mild, midrange-focused tone produced by its seamless aluminum shell create a unique presence.
The 1970s models feature thinner hoops and, while their tone is slightly milder than current models, they remain a popular generation known for their ease of use.

The main parts (hoops and snare wire) on this particular drum appear to be original.
One lug has had its lug nut replaced, and while the hoop is original, it shows some rust and pitting.
The switch is also the original 12-hole P-85 type; although the lever is slightly bent, it does not affect performance.

It shows signs of wear and has scratches and pitting on the metal, as is typical for its age, but the sound is flawless—a true “player’s condition” drum.

Although the snare wire and head have been replaced with current-production parts, the tone is excellent!
This is a vintage snare drum that’s still perfectly playable.
