A Fender Made in Japan Michiya Haruhata Model Stratocaster, manufactured in 2018.

This is the signature model of Michiya Haruhata, who became the first Japanese musician to sign an endorsement contract with Fender in 2002.It features a quilted maple top and ash back, a maple neck with a reverse headstock, a 10R radius rosewood fingerboard with medium frets, and a pickup configuration combining a DiMarzio Air Norton, a Fred, and a Fender Texas Special. It faithfully reproduces the original’s unique wiring, including master volume, middle pickup volume, and master tone controls.Featuring a direct-mount HSH layout and a double-locking tremolo, this guitar is geared toward a rock-oriented sound, and even the neck shape was meticulously crafted based on a 3D profile of Haruhata’s actual instrument. The tone knob incorporates a push-push switch that allows the front pickup to be engaged regardless of the selector position, contributing to versatile sound shaping.

Another key attraction is the high quality and diverse sound variations of this Japanese-made Fender, created under the technical guidance and supervision of Chris Fleming and others, who previously served as Senior Master Builders at the Custom Shop.

Although there are some signs of use (faded paint, picking marks, tarnished metal parts, etc.), the guitar is in good condition.

It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, and fret leveling); the frets are at a height that poses no problem for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both directions and has been tested to operate within a range of ±60°.
