USED YAMAHA / SX-800B Black [3.64 kg / Manufactured in 1976]

This is a late-model Yamaha SX-800B with a single pickup.

The SX-800B (chrome hardware) boasts the same specs as the SX-900B (gold hardware), differing only in the color of its hardware.It features a maple top and cedar back, a maple neck with the "Sally-chan's Dad" headstock, an ebony fingerboard, a long scale, and OMX-Ix3 semi-open pickups. It is equipped with a 5-way selector switch and white knobs, as shown in the catalog.

The SX series, known for being used by Tommy Bolin and Rory Gallagher—both of whom were often seen with the SX-125—is a vintage Japanese guitar from yesteryear that, despite its short production run, left a lasting impact.

The pickguard has warped due to age. There are signs of wear (including impact marks, scratches, scuffs, playing marks, extensive picking marks, buckle marks, and tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage).

It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, action adjustment, and fret leveling). The frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both directions; its operation has been verified up to ±60°.
