The Governor was Marshall's first distortion pedal, released in the 80's, and remains popular to this day.
The English-made version in particular is at a premium, and this unit is an early model.
The characteristic drive sound produces a classic tone different from other effect pedals.

There are some minor scratches and stains on the exterior, but there are no operational problems.
