USED Martin / 00-28C, manufactured in 1973 [09]

A 1973 classic guitar with a 00 body.
The top is spruce, the sides and back are Indian rosewood, the neck is mahogany, the fingerboard is ebony, and the nut width is approximately 53 mm.

Holes measuring several centimeters square had been drilled into the wood near the neck heel on the upper left side of the body and near the lower right side to install a preamp and jack; these have been filled and repaired. A crack-like mark is visible in the wood near the repaired area on the lower right side of the body. Additionally, the strap pin hole at the body end appears to have been enlarged, so it has been plugged with a larger strap pin.
All tuning pegs are bent, with the bending particularly noticeable on the 4th and 3rd string pegs; turning them may produce a “squeaking” noise. Tuning is still possible. The instrument will be delivered in its current condition.
We have filled and repaired two holes on the side of the body, refretted the instrument, repaired the fingerboard, replaced the nut and saddle, and leveled the frets.
The neck shows a forward bow, and the string action is slightly high in the higher fret areas.
On the back of the neck, from around the 1st fret to the 4th fret, the finish has peeled away, exposing the wood and creating unevenness. From around the 5th fret to the 8th fret, the finish on the back of the neck shows damage resembling "stand burn," and the neck feels uneven when gripped.
The body has numerous scratches, dents, and weather checking throughout; the finish has peeled away on the front of the body to the right of the soundhole and below it, revealing discolored wood.
The headstock shows scratches, dents, paint peeling, and weather checking; there is wear on the wood at the tip of the headstock; the tuning peg buttons exhibit cracks, shrinkage, and discoloration; and the metal parts show rust and tarnish.
