The horn is shaped to balance the body and neck during standing play while ensuring a comfortable grip, and the body curve on the high-string side is designed with a particular emphasis on fit and balance during seated play.
The area of the body surface where the elbow rests features a contoured bevel. Additionally, all body edges that come into contact with the body are finished with smooth rounded corners.
The back of the body features a bold cut that tapers toward the low strings. This design enhances the fit during seated playing and takes into account the angle of the player’s line of sight when viewing the fingerboard inlays. Additionally, to facilitate access to the high-fret areas, the back of the horn on the treble side is cut in a scooped shape.

・Chambered construction for a more intuitive feel of the body’s resonance
By allowing you to physically feel the vibrations inside the body—much like a hollow-body guitar—you’ll be able to better recognize the sound you’re actually producing. This also results in a slight reduction in weight.

As the abbreviation for “Variable Frequency Control for Mid EQ” suggests, this is an EQ that offers flexible control over the midrange (powered by a 006P alkaline battery).Typically, a 3-band EQ divides the frequency range into three bands—HIGH, MID, and LOW—and allows the user to boost or cut specific frequencies preset by the manufacturer. However, with the Vari-Mid, the user can freely adjust the focus of the midrange. For example, by setting the midrange to 100 Hz—which falls largely within the bass range—and boosting that frequency, you can compensate for a lack of low-end response.
