A 1998 JB—the Japan-exclusive 3-knob export version!

A 1998 American Vintage Series Jazz Bass has arrived.
At the time, the worldwide specification for the American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass featured a vintage JB control layout with two stacked knobs for 2 volume and 2 tone controls; however, this particular instrument is an export version designed specifically for the Japanese market, featuring a simple, basic, and standard 3-knob control layout with 2 volume and 1 master tone controls.
As for its condition, this instrument is now 28 years old.
There are some dents, scratches, paint deterioration, and signs of wear on the metal parts’ plating (such as rust) and some discoloration; however, given its age, these may be considered natural signs of aging.
However, the finish retains a rich luster, and there are no signs of wear on the frets, suggesting it may not have been used for serious performance or heavy-duty playing.
Furthermore, aside from normal wear and tear like scratches, there are no signs of rough handling, so it may have been stored in a hard case for a long time.
While there are some noticeable scratches, this instrument gives off a very clean and well-maintained impression.
Furthermore, the pots have been replaced with 2023 CTS models, and the output jack has been upgraded to a Switchcraft #11 mono jack.
The workmanship is beautiful, suggesting this was a professional repair carried out in recent years.
Furthermore, the pickguard mounting screws, which had suffered significant rust damage, have been replaced with genuine Fender USA screws.
All other parts are in their original condition.
It also comes with some accessories—now considered rare—in unused condition, still attached to the guitar.
