It features the high precision craftsmanship unique to Fuji String Manufacturing in Japan and a design focused on modern playability.The body is crafted from alder, while the neck features S-TECH-treated roasted maple. This combination ensures a stable neck condition resistant to environmental changes, delivering natural response and rich resonance. The rosewood fingerboard incorporates specifications supporting smooth playability, including a compound radius, stainless steel frets, and meticulously finished Prestige fret edges.

It's equipped with Seymour Duncan "Fortuna" HSS pickups. These offer a natural character with controlled output, enabling nuanced sound shaping from clean tones to light crunch. Furthermore, Ibanez's proprietary dyna-MIX9 switching system combines a 5-way selector with a mini-switch to deliver 9 distinct sound variations. This allows flexible switching between diverse tones, including series-wired single-coil configurations.

The bridge features Gotoh's T1702B two-point tremolo. Combined with hardware focused on tuning stability and vibration transfer—like brass saddles, Magnum Lock tuners, and the H.A.P. mechanism—it delivers high practicality suitable for modern playing styles.

Within the AZ series, this model pursues a vintage-like tonal character, combining Ibanez's signature high playability with the versatility of a Stratocaster style.
