The Ibanez MRG-9, released in 2008 as a limited-run domestic model.
Combining the RG’s speed and feel with high-grade materials, this special edition model features the meticulous craftsmanship inherited from the J.Custom series.

The body features a chambered mahogany core topped with an AAA-grade flamed maple top. The black charcoal finish allows the grain to subtly emerge, creating a high-quality look that shifts in appearance depending on the light.

The neck features a Super Wizard shape with a 5-piece maple and walnut construction. Despite its ultra-thin profile, it boasts high rigidity, ensuring stress-free playability even during technical passages. The fingerboard is made of rosewood, with flame maple binding adding a sleek, polished finish.

The bridge features an Edge Zero tremolo (equipped with ZPS3), balancing stable tuning with smooth whammy bar performance. It is a practical design built to withstand stage use.

It is equipped with DiMarzio humbuckers. The front Air Norton excels at producing warm, three-dimensional clean to lead tones, offering exceptional expressiveness in nuance. The rear Tone Zone generates a high-gain sound with depth and punch, making a powerful statement in rock and metal genres.

It also features a coil-tap function, allowing for delicate, single-coil-like tone shaping.
Some metal parts show signs of tarnish and plating wear.
There are minor signs of wear, such as some scratches and dents, but no particularly large or noticeable scratches are visible.
There are no noticeable issues with the neck, and it is in good playing condition.
