USED YAMAHA / SG-5A Sunburst [11]

A Yamaha SG-5A from the early, original SG series, manufactured in the 1960s.
Featuring a unique, slightly offset body shape and three single-coil pickups, this model is a pioneering example of Japanese-made vintage guitars.
Its appeal lies in the attention to detail evident in every aspect, from the rounded body and bound neck to the custom tremolo unit—a unique design characteristic of Yamaha at the time.

The sound combines a crisp, airy clarity with a solid, resonant tone, making it a perfect fit for 1960s music genres such as surf, group sounds, and garage rock.
The combination of the three pickups allows for a wide range of tones, enabling you to faithfully recreate the playing styles of that era.
Overall, the guitar shows signs of wear appropriate for its age, including scratches, dents, scuffs, and dings.
Signs of aging, such as rust and tarnish, are visible on the metal parts.
There is a crack at the neck joint, and the headstock has scratches, dents, and discoloration.
The tone pot has been replaced with a CTS-500A. All pickup lead wires have been replaced.
The frets are quite low, so we recommend replacing them during the next maintenance session.
Currently, there is some slight buzzing, primarily on open strings and the lower frets.
Separately, part of the tremolo unit is resonating, which may occasionally produce a buzzing sound.
There are no noticeable abnormalities with the neck, and it is safe for normal use.
