The top is crafted from Adirondack spruce, a rare, hard, and lightweight wood, while the African mahogany back has been made thicker to enhance its performance as a reflective panel, thereby amplifying the sound radiation from the top.

Furthermore, the bolt-on neck joint ensures that the neck and body are moderately separated, allowing the vibrational energy from the strings and neck to be concentrated in the body.

It combines the “quick attack and powerful volume” expected of a Dreadnought style with the “clarity” characteristic of Yamaha acoustic guitars.

It combines the light, resilient sound unique to Adirondack spruce tops with the warm resonance and crisp clarity provided by African mahogany sides and back.

The inner label visible through the soundhole is made of washi paper; the position marks feature a design reminiscent of traditional Japanese wood joinery; and the soundhole and body lines are accented with rope inlays and rope binding that evoke the image of traditional Japanese shimenawa.
