USED Gibson / Southern Jumbo, 1998, Vintage Sunburst [12]

A 1998 Southern Jumbo has arrived in stock.
Developed as a higher-end model of the J-45—Gibson’s flagship acoustic guitar—it features luxurious embellishments such as neck binding, double parallelogram inlays, and multi-binding around the body perimeter and soundhole.

Southern Jumbo models produced after 2000 have a narrower spacing between the bridge saddle and bridge pins, resulting in a faster attack compared to the J-45; however, since this particular instrument shares the same specifications as the J-45, its sound character leans more toward that of the J-45.

Having been manufactured nearly 30 years ago and having been well-played, it has developed a rich tonal quality with abundant mid-to-low-range harmonics, resulting in a lively, resonant sound.
There is a circular scratch on the headstock top, numerous paint cracks and dents scattered across the top of the body, and the neck grip is densely covered with weather checking.
Numerous signs of paint reaction are visible on the body sides, back, and end, and an additional strap pin has been added to the neck heel.
Although this is a model from an era when pickups were not originally included, the fact that it has been modified with an endpin jack indicates that a pickup was retrofitted at some point.
Although it shows significant signs of use, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and its playability is excellent.
The original hard case is missing, but a Gibson soft case is included.
