Kazuki Arai's 2021 limited-edition model has arrived.
Kazuki Arai, bassist for King Gnu and Millennium Parade, has used the American Deluxe Jazz Bass V for nearly all of his live performances and recordings.

Based on the Made in Japan Deluxe Jazz Bass V—which was reissued in Japan in 2021 to great acclaim—this signature model incorporates Arai’s personal vision and features further upgrades. It was released as a limited-edition model in 2021 to commemorate Fender’s 75th anniversary.

While primarily utilizing an active circuit, the design pursues the natural tone of a passive system, featuring a roasted maple neck and a carefully selected rosewood fingerboard.
A thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer lends a luxurious feel while maximizing the resonance of the meticulously selected wood.
The electronics feature the fifth-generation Ultra Noiseless Vintage Jazz Bass pickups used in the American Ultra series, along with the latest preamp.
The original-shape grip—developed under his supervision—and the compact body deliver a level of playability never before seen in a 5-string bass.

Finished in a Vintage Natural color that recreates a vintage look, the matching tortoiseshell-patterned pickguard further enhances the sense of luxury.

Furthermore, the neck plate is engraved with an original design created specifically for this model. While primarily utilizing active circuitry, the instrument pursues the natural resonance of a passive setup, featuring a roasted maple neck and a carefully selected rosewood fingerboard. A thin coat of nitrocellulose lacquer not only adds a sense of luxury but also maximizes the resonance of the meticulously selected wood.

The lineup includes two finishes—a coarse-grained two-tone sunburst that recreates a vintage look and a vintage natural finish—each featuring a pickguard exclusive to this model.
Furthermore, the neck plate is engraved with an original design created specifically for this model, though a plain neck plate is also included.
While there are some minor scratches and dents throughout, the instrument shows minimal signs of use and is in good condition.
It has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is excellent.
