SE McCARTY 594 Series
Launched in 1994, the McCARTY series is inspired by vintage Gibson models.
In 2017, after closely measuring a vintage Les Paul, it was discovered that the scale length was not 24.75 inches but 24.594 inches, leading to the launch of the "McCARTY 594" series based on that scale length.
The SE McCARTY 594 follows the specifications of the USA-made McCARTY 594, featuring a 22-fret, mahogany neck, a 24.594-inch scale, vintage-style tuners, the wide and thick neck grip known as "PATTERN VINTAGE" (exclusive to the McCARTY 594), a bridge designed to match the USA model,"58/15LTS" pickups with vintage voicing and low-turn specifications, and a COIL-TAP function that enables a total of eight pickup configurations. Designed to honor the vintage sound while delivering a richer, sweeter tone and versatility for a wide range of musical styles.

While parts are often sourced from third-party off-the-shelf or OEM components, Paul Reed Smith’s commitment to crafting everything from the pickups to the bridge from scratch is evident in the SE series as well. The PRS TWO-PIECE BRIDGE featured in the SE McCarty 594 series is a zinc and brass bridge that maximizes contact points with the body to enhance resonance and deliver a natural tone.It features VINTAGE-style tuners for superior tuning stability. The SE McCARTY 594 lineup includes both double-cutaway and single-cutaway models, with the single-cutaway McCARTY 594 offering specifications closer to those of a Les Paul.
