~MDM Key Features~
MDM (Mode Modern) 24-fret model
This is the most distinctive feature of the MDM model, designed as a truly versatile bass that accommodates various genres and adapts to all playing styles.

MDM-Exclusive C-Shape Neck
This C-shaped neck, designed exclusively for the MDM, is compact yet features a substantial, rounded neck back and a smoothly finished fingerboard edge for a comfortable grip.
It is crafted from roasted maple, a material that undergoes heat treatment to ensure uniformity while enhancing stability, water resistance, weather resistance, and durability against warping.
The frets are made of stainless steel, an essential element in today’s trends.

MDM Original Body Shape
This original shape is optimized for MDM, designed specifically for a 24-fret configuration.
It was designed with the goal of providing smooth access to the higher frets, a comfortable outer contour for both standing and seated playing, a contoured profile that improves the fit against the body, and excellent body balance.

Super All-Access Neck Joint
To enhance playability in the high fret range and enable stress-free fingering, the joint area has been recessed by one step, and the edges have been rounded significantly.
The joint is designed with a wide contact area to allow the player to feel the vibrations of the neck and body as a single, unified whole.

Delta S6J Pickup
Although designed for a 6-string guitar, this pickup retains its iconic size and appearance while embodying the essence of Ibanez.
Black-plated stainless steel pole pieces and neodymium magnets create an aggressive yet balanced tone.
Additionally, its hum-canceling design delivers a powerful, noise-free sound that supports ensemble playing.

~Common Specifications for the MDM#1600 Series~
Poplar Burl top / Alder body
We selected thick poplar burl—known for its distinctive grain and natural tonal characteristics across a wide frequency range—as the top material for an alder body, which is popular for its balanced, neutral tone across the entire frequency spectrum.

Rosewood Fretboard
We chose rosewood for the fretboard, known for its quick attack, rich sustain, and warm tone.

Luminescent Side Dot Inlays
We’ve incorporated phosphorescent side dot position markers on the fretboard.

MR5S Mono-rail Bridge
This is the MR5S (Mono-rail) bridge, equipped with a string spacing adjustment mechanism. Each string is independent, allowing the vibration of each string to be transmitted directly to the body.
Additionally, since the saddles can be moved ±1.5 mm left and right, the string spacing can be adjusted as desired within the available range.

Ibanez SonitechS Preamp 3-band EQ with HexaMid System
The “Sonitech” preamp features a 3-band EQ designed for extensive control, along with volume and pickup balancer controls, as well as a master tone control that adjusts the overall character of the sound regardless of whether the EQ is on or bypassed.
Furthermore, a mini-switch on the top of the body allows you to select from three different peak frequency bands for the Mid control.
These three peak frequency bands are determined by the “H” or “L” DIP switches located on the control cavity panel on the back of the body; in other words, the Mid control knob allows you to choose from a total of six peak frequency bands to shape your sound.

Aero-light Machine Heads
These robust yet lightweight machine heads are made from ultra-ultra duralumin, which combines exceptional strength with lightness.
These are original Ibanez parts that prevent so-called “headstock drop” while delivering smooth turning action and high tuning accuracy.
Note: Be sure to wind the strings all the way down to the bottom of the post before use.

Finger Ramp
Includes a dedicated finger ramp, a staple for fingerstyle players.
Note: The ramp is designed to be attached to the body using the double-sided tape on its back. Removing the attached ramp may damage the finish on the body’s surface. Please exercise extreme caution.
Please install and remove the ramp at your own risk.
