AZ-exclusive Oval C-shaped S-TECH WOOD roasted maple 1-piece neck
This original neck shape was developed by measuring and analyzing the neck grips of dozens of guitar models, both from our own company and others.
The neck is shaped to slope gently from the joint between the fingerboard and neck to the fingerboard edge, featuring a rounded fingerboard edge for a comfortable grip.
This shape is accurately and reliably reproduced through ball-milling.
The shape is specifically designed to ensure a comfortable grip in the low-fret area and to facilitate classical-style playing—where the thumb rests on the back of the neck—as you move up to the high frets.
Maple wood treated with “Estec,” a nitrogen heat treatment technology, is used.
Estec-treated wood is characterized by dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes, and the technology is patented in Japan.
In addition, the finish features an oil finish that gives it the texture of a well-played guitar neck.

S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Fretboard with Stainless Frets
Designed to prevent muffled tones even during wide-range bends and to minimize stress on the fingers and hands during chord playing, this 305mmR fretboard was the result of extensive trial and error, incorporating multiple challenges—including the combination with the neck—into several prototypes.

Luminlay Phosphorescent Side Dot Position Inlays
We’ve adopted 3.0mm-diameter phosphorescent dot position inlays that boast high visibility, helping you adapt to rapidly changing performance environments caused by stage lighting and other factors.
Even on a dark stage, you’ll never lose sight of the notes you want to play.

An ergonomic body back contour
This original body shape was designed with a contemporary aesthetic in mind.
The slim body contour and generous elbow contour create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, significantly contributing to improved playability.
In addition, the deep waist of the body allows for easy handling when cradling the guitar or on stage, delivering exceptional playability.
The radius of the corners differs between the front and back of the body, creating an ergonomic design that provides an immediate sense of fit the moment you pick up the guitar, whether sitting or standing.

Super All Access Neck Joint
The “Super All Access” neck joint achieves superior playability by featuring an 8mm stepped cut from the back of the body and a spherical finish at the neck joint.
The cutaway on the low-string side is designed to be shallow, maximizing the contact area between the body and the neck. This balances excellent sustain and resonance while maintaining high playability.

Hyperion Pickups, Co-Developed with Seymour Duncan
We acquired more than dozens of different pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of each one.
From among them, we identified the specifications and sound profile deemed optimal for the AZ. These AZ-exclusive pickups were born from a collaboration with Seymour Duncan—a company synonymous with the pickup industry, boasting a long history while continuing to pioneer new innovations to this day.
These custom pickups feature slightly reduced output to ensure that the clarity of the original sound remains even when distorted, with a focus on picking responsiveness and reproducibility.
From treble to bass, and from the first string to the sixth, we prioritized overall balance and sought to ensure the pickups respond well to effects.
All pickups feature Alnico-5 magnets.

dyna-MIX 10 switching system with Alter switch
With a single flip of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, giving you 10 different sound variations.
You can switch to Power Tap mode to achieve an authentic single-coil sound.
Featuring special wiring that taps one coil while preserving the low-end of the other, it delivers clear highs and a thick, well-defined sound that cannot be achieved with a standard tap.

Ibanez T1802 Tremolo Bridge with Titanium Saddles (Manufactured by Gotoh)* Mount: A recessed-body design that allows for a wide range of arm movement.
This bridge is a reimagined version of the GOTOH 510 bridge—widely regarded by many players and guitar brands as the definitive tremolo bridge—developed through a collaboration between Ibanez and GOTOH.
Featuring a hard-machined titanium saddle and a machined steel inertia block—which achieve both a quick attack and a solid, fat tone—it is also characterized by its resonant high-end.
The narrow-spacing design features a string-to-string pitch of 10.5 mm, designed to make it easier to pick across strings—a requirement for players who frequently use skipping or hybrid picking techniques.

The spring-muting rubber
A rubber spring mute installed to suppress the “resonance” of the springs that often occurs in tremolo-bridge-type guitars.

Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads with H.A.P. function for adjustable post height
We’ve adopted Gotoh’s Magnum Lock machine heads, renowned for their tuning stability.
Equipped with the H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post) mechanism, the post height can be adjusted to achieve the proper tension for each string.

Cowbone Nut
Features an oil-impregnated cowbone nut.
This provides the smooth glide of the nut—which greatly contributes to tuning stability—and delivers resonance reminiscent of vintage guitars.
