The Hollowbody II Piezo, with its maple body top and back and mahogany sidewoods, produces a transparent sound with rich overtones comparable to a full-size hollowbody guitar, and the 22-fret 25" scale neck offers high playability. The 22-fret, 25" scale neck is a highly playable instrument, making it one of the most popular CORE models in the PRS lineup.
Equipped with PRS' new McCarty III pickups, the Hollowbody II produces a warm, mellow vintage sound that, when combined with the standard LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, can be used as both an acoustic and electric guitar. Combined with the standard LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system, the sound of both acoustic and electric guitars can be covered by a single guitar. This model also features two outputs, allowing the sound of each pickup to be output independently to an electric guitar amp and an acoustic guitar amp (or DI). The independent blend control allows you to blend the vintage sound of the McCarty III pickups with the acoustic sound of the piezo pickups to create a one-of-a-kind sound from a single output. Designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS new product development engineering team, the McCarty III pickups are the result of PRS's recent research and development, from studying rare vintage pickups to analyzing pickup frequency response and improving tuning techniques. The McCarty III pickups are the result of all the knowledge and experience that PRS has accumulated in recent years in research and development.
The PRS McCarty III pickups are vintage guitar-inspired humbuckers that combine a warm, mellow vintage sound with the clarity and clarity of a singing voice.
The wood grain and sound are superb, and the construction is, unsurprisingly, very lightweight.
The softness of the sound is exceptional, and this model is very useful for jazz and fusion music that mainly uses clean tones.
