While the body is made of alder, just like the JEM7V, the body design incorporates various meticulous details, such as the body edges, contours, and horns.
- A symbolic petal grip designed to evoke the image of nestled flower petals
- A 5-piece maple/walnut PIA neck, shaped to Steve’s preferred grip, just like the JEM
- PIA Blossom inlays that, along with the grip, serve as the signature art of the Steve Vai model
The fingerboard is made of rosewood. Luminlay, a phosphorescent material, is used for the side position markers.
- Scalloped fingerboard (21st–24th frets)
- Jumbo-sized stainless steel frets (with Prestige fret edge treatment)
- USA-made DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups designed exclusively for PIA

Not all of the items you purchase from us are in our Shibuya store in Tokyo where we do all of our international communications from.
