IBANEZ / AZ2204NW-MGR Mint Green [03]

A limited-edition SPOT production model of the “AZ-N,” created with the concept of a “versatile clean tone”!

The Ibanez Prestige “AZ Series” has established a new-generation standard by pursuing the diverse sounds and playability sought by modern guitarists to the absolute limit. This “AZ-N” model is a high-end instrument developed with a primary focus on delivering the “natural, high-quality clean tone” and “reproduction of subtle picking nuances” that are indispensable in today’s music scene—including neo-soul, jazz, fusion, and pop.

The body is crafted from alder, which offers a balanced tone with no harshness across the entire frequency range, from low to high frequencies. The ergonomically designed, thinly contoured back and generously sized elbow contour provide an exceptional grip whether playing standing or seated. Furthermore, the “Super All Access” neck joint—featuring a stepped cutout from the back of the body—delivers both exceptional playability in the higher frets and rich sustain.
The neck features “S-TECH WOOD” roasted maple, a patented technology that dramatically enhances dimensional stability and weather resistance through nitrogen heat treatment. This is paired with an AZ Oval C-shaped neck—offering just the right amount of thickness—and a rosewood fingerboard that produces warm, rich harmonics.Features that ensure supreme playability include a compound radius fingerboard (228 mm to 305 mm R) that allows for stress-free playing from low-position chord work to high-fret bends; jumbo stainless steel frets with smooth Prestige fret edge treatment; and Luminlay (phosphorescent) side dots that ensure visibility on dark stages.

The pickups feature the “Fortuna”—developed exclusively for the AZ-N in collaboration with Seymour Duncan—mounted in an SSH configuration. Designed with lower output than the Hyperion pickups, they faithfully reproduce your picking touch and boast exceptional compatibility with a wide variety of distortion and spatial effects pedals. The “dyna-MIX 9” switching system, which works in conjunction with a mini-switch (Alter Switch), allows you to create a total of nine diverse tone variations—including a pseudo-humbucker sound achieved through series wiring of two single-coil pickups—with a single touch.

The hardware features a “Gotoh T1702B” tremolo bridge mounted in a non-recessed configuration to elicit a direct, unadulterated tone. The brass saddles provide a rich, warm resonance.Furthermore, the combination of “Gotoh Magnum Lock w/H.A.P.” tuners—which allow the post height to be optimized for each string—and a cowbone nut ensures tight tension balance and exceptional tuning stability. This is a premium, limited-edition SPOT-production guitar that embodies Japan’s world-renowned craftsmanship down to the finest details.
