Steve himself describes this signature model as “the evolution of the JEM” and has named it “PIA: Paradise in Art.”
While the body is made of alder, just like the JEM7V, the body design incorporates various meticulous details, such as the body edges, contouring, and horns.

A symbolic petal grip designed to evoke the image of intertwined flower petals

A 5-piece maple/walnut PIA neck, shaped to Steve’s preferred grip—just like the JEM

The PIA Blossom inlay, which, along with the grip, serves as the signature artwork of the Steve Vai models
The fingerboard is made of rosewood. Phosphorescent Luminlay is used for the side position markers.

Scalloped fingerboard (21st–24th frets)

Jumbo-sized stainless steel frets (with Prestige fret edge treatment)

USA-made DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups designed exclusively for the PIA

Not all of the items you purchase from us are in our Shibuya store in Tokyo where we do all of our international communications from.
