Yamaha's flagship electric bass model in the BB series, the "BBP," has undergone a minor model update!

For over 40 years, the Yamaha BB Series has consistently pursued the sounds and features demanded by the music scene of each era, earning continuous acclaim from top bassists around the world.
From the “BB Pro (BBP)” series—the flagship models embodying the pinnacle of Japanese craftsmanship—a slightly updated model has been released, featuring hardware that has been updated from a matte finish to a glossy chrome finish.

The body features a three-ply alder/maple/alder construction that enriches the midrange and produces a resonant, full-bodied tone.
The instrument undergoes the proprietary “I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration)” treatment, which applies appropriate vibrations to the finished instrument to eliminate internal stress in the finish and adhesives, thereby bringing out a rich tone reminiscent of an instrument that has been played for many years.
Furthermore, the “Miter Bolting” method—which securely fastens the neck at a 45-degree angle—combined with a high-rigidity 5-piece maple and mahogany neck, minimizes the loss of string vibration energy to the absolute minimum, delivering overwhelming sustain and a solid response.

The pickups feature the “YGD V7 P/J (Alnico V),” which preserves traditional tone while enhancing clarity and punch.
The “Vintage Plus Bridge,” which combines a brass saddle with a steel plate, features a convertible design that routes the strings at a 45-degree angle from the bottom of the body, producing tight, deep bass tones. This is the pinnacle of “Made in Japan” craftsmanship, combining the natural, expressive tone unique to passive pickups with the durability required for the rigors of professional use.
