The square-shouldered "Dove" acoustic guitar was created in 1962.
In 1960, Gibson's first square-shouldered "Hummingbird" was introduced, followed by the advanced "Dove" model.
In the 1970s, all Gibson round shoulders were shifted to square shoulders, marking a period of change. The Dove and Hummingbird were the milestones in this transition.
This guitar is thought to be made in the early 1970s, judging from the serial number.

The BODY is all solid, with spruce on the TOP and maple on the SIDE and BACK.
The NECK is a 3-piece maple. While J-45 and Hummingbird have a 24-3/4" scale, Dove has a 25-1/2" long scale.
The "Dove" in the bridge and pickguard decoration is impressive, and the pickguard is an old-style carved type.

The pickguard has numerous cracks due to years of use, and the graphic lines are fading. The bridge has been thinned and adjusted, and the binding has been replaced. 6 peg covers are missing.
There is a crack near the neck above the soundhole, which has been patched from the back. There is a gouge on the left side, which has been repaired with wood. This area has also been patched with wood from the back.
The string height is very low, approximately 2.3mm at the 12th fret of the 6th string and 1.9mm at the 12th fret of the 1st string, making it easy to play. The truss rod is checked 60 degrees to the left and right.
Although it is a very used old guitar, it has a clear outline and a grainy, corey and powerful sound.
A genuine hard case is included.

1962年に誕生したスクエアショルダーのアコースティックギター「Dove」。
1960年にGibson初のスクエアショルダー「Hummingbird」が発売され、その後発表された上級モデル「Dove」。
1970年代にはGibsonのラウンドショルダーが全てスクエアショルダーへ移行され、変革期を迎えます。その布石となったのが、Doveや Hummingbirdになります。
こちらはシリアルナンバーから1970年代前半と思われます。

BODYはオールソリッドで、TOPにスプルース、SIDE/BACKにメイプルが採用されています。
NECKはメイプル3ピースとなっています。スケールは、J-45やHummingbirdが24-3/4”に対し、Doveは25-1/2”のロングスケールを 採用。
ブリッジやピックガード装飾の中の「Dove(鳩)」が 印象的で、ピックガードはOldならではの彫り込みタイプです。

長年の使用によりピックガードに無数のヒビが見られ、グラフィックの線が消えかかっています。指板修正、リフレット、サドルは交換の出しろは低く、ブリッジが薄く削られ調整され、バインディングは交換されています。6ペグのカバーが欠損しています。
サウンドホール上部のネック付近に割れがあり、裏からパッチ修正が施されています。左側のサイドにえぐれた跡があり、木材で修正されています。この部分は裏からも木材パッチが当ててあります。
弦高は6弦12フレットで約2.3mm、1弦12フレットで約1.9mmと非常に低く、弾きやすくなっています。トラスロッドは左右に60度確認しております。
非常に使い込まれた古いギターですが、輪郭が明瞭なサウンドで、粒立ちよく芯の通った力強さが特徴的です。

Please Note

The items name with "USED" are used items, and comes as shown in the pictures so there may be marks of use. All items were tested by our store staff and we test each item one more time before shipping them out to make sure they are fully functional.

All items for sale on ISHIBASHI MUSIC are stock currently available from all of ISHIBASHI stores around Japan. So it might take a few days for shipping.

And there is a chance that they may sell out in our retail location beforehand.

In that case we will cancel the order and refund any payments received.
