The best part of the hefty Westerly factory-era guild!"

Heavily built Westerly factory made in 1980. It features a spruce top, laminated maple sides, arched laminated maple back, 16" wide body, block position marks, and Chesterfield headstock inlays.
Scattered dents and scratches are visible, as well as signs of use and deterioration such as chipped headstock edges, cloudy paint, and dull metal parts. The truss rod cover is cracked at the screw near the nut, and the back of the cover has been taped to prevent it from coming apart. The fingerboard may have been shaved to correct the neck, and the fingerboard is slightly thinner near the nut and the end of the fingerboard. It seems to have been refretted.
The neck is currently straight, but the string height at the 12th fret is high, about 3.2mm on the 6th string side and about 2.2mm on the 1st string side, due to the shallow neck angle. The truss rod has been confirmed to operate at 60 degrees left and right, but the movement is firm in the tightening direction. There is about 70% of fret height left.
A genuine hard case is included, but the latch with the key is faulty and tends to come off the hook.
This is a guitar that is not for every player, but it is a great guitar to play low position with a pick. The maple side and back give the guitar a crisp and solid sound. You can enjoy the real pleasure of the heavy Westerly factory-era guitars.

「ずっしりと重たいウェスタリー工場時代のギルドの醍醐味！」

重厚な作りのウェスタリー工場製。1980年製です。スプルース・トップ、ラミネイト・メイプルのサイド、アーチがついたラミネイト・メイプルのバック、16インチ幅のボディ、ブロック・ポジション・マーク、チェスター・フィールドのヘッドストック・インレイなどが特徴。
打痕、引っ掻き傷が散見され、ヘッドストックのエッジの欠け、塗膜の曇り、金属部品のくすみといった使用感、劣化箇所も確認できます。トラス・ロッド・カバーのナット寄りのネジの部分が割れており、ばらけないよう裏にテープが貼ってあります。ネックの修正のため、指板を削ったのでしょう、指板のナット寄りとエンド寄りが若干薄くなっています。リフレットもされているようです。
現状ネックは真っ直ぐな状態ですが、ネックの仕込角が浅いため、12フレットの弦高は6弦側で約3.2mm、1弦側で約2.2mmと高めです。1弦側のサドルの高さにさほど余裕はなく、サドルを削ってバランス良く全体の弦高を下げるのは難しそうです。トラス・ロッドは左右60度の動作確認済ですが、締め方向は動きは固めです。フレットの高さは7割前後残っています。
純正ハード・ケースが付属しますが、鍵の付いたラッチに不具合がありフックが外れがちです。
弾き手を選ぶギターと言えそうですが、ロー・ポジションを中心に豪快にピック弾きで鳴らすのには持って来いのギターです。メイプル・サイド＆バックならではのドンシャリかつ芯のある鳴りが魅力。ずっしりと重たいウェスタリー工場時代のギルドの醍醐味を味わえます。
