Emmons was founded by Buddy Emmons, the man who established today's pedal steel guitar playing style. It is one of the leading pedal steel brands, along with Show Bud, the brand Buddy worked with Shot Jackson on before Emmons. Both brands have experienced a resurgence in recent years, but this one was made in 1979 and can now be called vintage. It features a push-pull changer mechanism. Finished in black mica, it has a 10-string double neck (E9th tuning + C6th tuning), 8 floor pedals, and 4 knee levers as standard equipment.

There are some dents and scratches on the frame and rack at the top of the front of the body, a few minute dings and light scratches on the mica surface, and rust and scuffed or dulled plating on the metal parts, but there is no noticeable damage. The pickup selector switch was malfunctioning upon arrival and has been replaced. It has been professionally inspected, adjusted, and set up.
The original hard case is included. The case has been partially reinforced with duct tape, and the surface layer of the handle has deteriorated, but there are no practical problems.
As one would expect from Emmons, this pedal has a clear and bright tone, ample sustain, and smooth operation. It has a sense of weight and stability not found in the lightweight pedal steel of recent years.
In the U.S., the price of new, used, and vintage pedal steel is on the rise, and with the depreciation of the yen, it is becoming a difficult item for Japanese users to afford. However, we were able to procure this item in Japan, so the price is very reasonable for a vintage push-pull. This item is recommended for both beginners and experienced players.
