This is a Nikkan tenor saxophone, Imperial. It has an established reputation as a Japan Vintage, and is as perfect as the base of the famous Yamaha YTS-61. The tone has a sense of density and melancholy different from today's instruments. If the original YTS-62 was the Mark Vi, the Nikkan Imperiale, and the YTS-61 has the feel of the SBA. The sound is more subdued than the 62, but the overtones that can be felt because of this model are appealing. There are some rust and minor scratches and rust marks from use, but overall I think the condition is well maintained. All tampos have been replaced and adjusted.
