Dreadnought by pioneering guitar luthier Roy Noble!

Roy Noble is a pioneering guitar luthier who has been active since the 1960s. Clarence White's use of his guitars is well known among avid fans, and he is also said to have restored Clarence's D-28. Along with Roy's students Mark Whitebook, Dan Masser, and David Russell Young, he was a master craftsman of hand-crafted guitars before the term "luthier" became commonplace.
Roy has been actively using cedar as well as spruce for the tops of his guitars for a long time, and we believe that the top of this guitar is also cedar. The sides and back are mahogany. The neck block is stamped with the serial number 242 and 8 31 92, which indicates that it was made in 1992.
Some of the paint film on the sides of the fingerboard is peeling and lifting. The paint film on the neck is not quite cloudy, but it has a light cloudiness. There are also a few dents, scratches, and abrasions throughout. The dents on the edge of the headstock and the back of the neck are the easiest to find, but other than those, you can only notice them by holding the instrument in your hand and staring at it with a light source reflecting off of it. The strap pin at the heel of the neck appears to be a later addition. Overall, there is no significant damage. A Taylor molded hard case is included.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been confirmed to operate at 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed together and are not dented, and more than 70% of the height remains. Both playability and sound are perfect.
Roy also made concert type guitars in later years, but the dreadnought is his quintessence. It plays loudly and well. The sound is relatively tight and does not give the impression of a blurred sound image. This is a gem that can be used not only for bluegrass, but also for a wide range of applications from singing accompaniment to fingerstyle. Don't miss it!
