We’ve just received a used Atelier Z short-scale model!

Atelier Z began as a Japanese brand in 1989. Since then, it has continued to be loved by many artists for its active basses that blend vintage and modern styles, and its popularity has skyrocketed in recent years. Gaining traction particularly among younger audiences, the brand is laying the foundation to become a new classic.

This latest arrival is the “Z-4PJ” model, which features a short scale—specifically, a limited-edition white Competition Line model that’s particularly charming.

It features an alder body and a rosewood fingerboard, offering a classic, ’60s-style configuration.
As the model name suggests, in addition to the PJ pickup configuration, the built-in active circuitry delivers a powerful sound.

The neck and frets are currently in good condition, and the guitar is still in good playing shape.
There are scratches, scuffs, and dents throughout the body.
There is some paint chipping on the headstock and a dent on the fingerboard (near the 17th fret).
It also comes with a clear pickguard crafted by a previous owner.
