This is a Conn New Wonder II alto saxophone. It was manufactured around 1925. It is popular among players seeking the fat, mellow tone characteristic of Conn instruments, offering a charm distinct from the brilliance of the 6M model. Many Conn fans prefer the sound of the New Wonder, making it a legendary instrument that remains popular to this day. It appears to have been finished with lacquer over a satin silver base, and I believe the inner bell is also lacquered.While the lacquer on the body has peeled off in many places, some areas still retain it. Also, although few users are likely to use it, the Micro-Device tuner is malfunctioning and cannot be used. The lyre screw is also missing. All pads have been replaced and the instrument has been fully adjusted.
