A used 2022 John Mayer Signature Model “SE Silver Sky Maple Nylon Blue” has arrived!

The SE SILVER SKY features a poplar body, a bolt-on maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard with bird inlays, 22 frets, and a 25.5-inch scale length. It is equipped with the 635 JM”S” pickup, which is characterized by tight bass, dense mids, and sparkling highs.

Like the U.S. model, the headstock is based on PRS’s signature shape but incorporates a curved design tailored to John Mayer’s playing style—with extra clearance on the G-string side to prevent fingers from hitting the headstock—and features a unique tuning peg layout to further enhance tuning stability.

The neck is a 635 JM specification (the “635” refers to a 63.5-year model, signifying a blend of the 1963 and 1964 vintage guitar shapes). It features a rosewood fingerboard, a bolt-on neck, 22 frets, a 25.5-inch scale, and “Small Birds”—a scaled-down version of PRS’s signature bird inlays.

The steel tremolo system retains a classic design while incorporating knife-edge screws to minimize tuning instability during tremolo use. Additionally, in accordance with John Mayer’s specifications, the bridge is set flush against the body before shipment to ensure string vibrations are transmitted more directly to the body.

The 635 JM “S” single-coil pickup, exclusive to the SE SILVER SKY, produces a sound with a rich midrange—just like the US model—and is characterized not only by a thick, lustrous clean tone but also by a sound with bite and attack when distorted.

In pursuit of playability and balance for a broader range of players, the fretboard radius has been changed from the US model’s 7.25” to 8.5”.

Condition
While there is some slight discoloration on some parts, the instrument is in relatively good condition with minimal signs of use. All playability-related components—including the neck, frets, and truss rod—are in perfect working order.
Additionally, upon arrival, our repair center performed a full setup and fret leveling, so you can use it with confidence.
