USED Fender Japan / JB62 VSP FJ30TH Faded 3-Tone Sunburst 2012 [03]

The JB62/VSP/FJ30TH, produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Fender Japan’s founding (2012), has just arrived in our store as a used item.

This anniversary model is based on the VSP (Vintage Special) series, which was marketed as Fender Japan’s top-of-the-line domestic line.

It features a two-piece alder body, a maple neck, and a selected rosewood fingerboard. Another standout feature is the neck shape, which is a faithful reproduction of the 1962 Jazz Bass. The pickups have been replaced with Vintage Cross Wire Pickups, allowing you to enjoy a vintage-like sound with rich mids and warm bass tones.

The instrument’s most distinctive feature is its stacked 2-Volume, 2-Tone knob control. It adopts the same control layout as the very first Jazz Bass models, making it a bass that lets you enjoy the process of shaping your sound.

A strong attention to detail is evident in its appearance, such as the faded color finish that replicates the aged look of a 3-Tone Sunburst. Additionally, the joint plate featuring a 30th-anniversary engraving is a unique highlight of this model.

Regarding the condition: the truss rod functions properly. The pickup and bridge fences are missing, though the mounting screw holes remain. There is a relatively large area of paint peeling on the side of the body, and the parts show some dullness due to age. Additionally, dents are visible on the tuning pegs for the 1st, 2nd, and 4th strings. The included case has damage to part of the zipper, and there is a hole in the bottom.
