USED 1976 Firebird Bicentennial Sunburst [04]

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1976 Founding Fathers' Model Firebird.

This is the first Firebird with a reverse body since the medallion Firebird of 1971.
The bird print on the pickguard is designed in the image of the Stars and Stripes, and it is also unique in that it is made with a two-piece mahogany through-neck, which was only seen in 1963 when the Firebird was first introduced.

Unlike the 60's, the Founders model has a stop tailpiece.
It has an unbound neck with dot position marks, two mini humbuckers, and gold parts, making it an interesting mix of the original I-VII specifications.

The neck shape is thin in the low position, but becomes thicker in the high position, which is common to the original 60's model, but this one is thicker from the 5th fret.

The pickups are original stamped numbered mini humbuckers.
The trebly sound is still there, and you can enjoy the fat sound in the front and the crispy sound in the rear, which is typical of Firebird.

The condition of the guitar has been over-lacquered in the past, and the exterior shows signs of use commensurate with its age.
The nut, switch knob, and end pins have been replaced.
There is a screw hole on the back of the horn on the 1st string side that may have been used to add a strap pin, and the hole has been filled in.
The original strap pin screw holes on the 6th string side horn have also been filled in.
It is nice to note that there is no history of head breakage repair, which is common on Firebirds.

The frets are original and low as it is a so-called "fretless wonder" specification, but this one is still high enough to play easily and in good playing condition.
