A 2013 Gibson Custom R8 has arrived!

This 2013 Historic Collection 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue features the official Custom Backer and incorporates specifications closer to the current Historic Collection, such as hide glue construction, long studs, and a tubular truss rod.

The body features a two-piece maple top with visible grain, a one-piece mahogany back, a solid mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard, with hide glue used for the neck-to-body joint.

The headstock features a silk-screened "Les Paul MODEL" inscription alongside the Gibson logo and is equipped with Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners.
The bound neck, featuring angular dish inlays, bears the patina from the aniline dye finish that was revived last year.
The neck shape is the thick, substantial "50s Rounded C-Shape," and it features 22 "Medium Jumbo Frets."

It is equipped with two Custombuckers, and the pickup covers have been replaced with Throbak covers.
The controls feature a 2-volume/2-tone setup and a 3-way selector switch, utilizing CTS pots and vintage-style Ruby replica capacitors.
The finish is a deep "Faded Tobacco Sunburst," with an aniline dye and VOS finish applied to the neck and body back.

The truss rod cover and control knobs have also been replaced.

There are scratches and dents from use, and the body back has numerous scratches from a belt buckle. The neck and body show fading of the aniline dye due to use and age.
Approximately 70% of the frets remain, and the truss rod has been confirmed to turn 60 degrees in both directions, making it in good playing condition.
