A used Fender Custom Shop 1955 Esquire Mastergrade Amber Natural (1997) has arrived in stock.

This Mastergrade 1955 Esquire was commissioned in 1977 by Yamano Music, which was the official importer at the time.
Mastergrade models remain highly popular even today, and the precision of their craftsmanship becomes evident the moment you pick it up.

The body is made of two-piece ash, and the neck is crafted from one-piece bird’s-eye maple.
The neck shape is typical of a ’50s Telecaster—thick and substantial to grip—and features a slightly softened V-shaped ’51–’52 profile.
The headstock is equipped with a set of six Kluson tuners and features a round string guide. While it bears the Fender logo and an “Esquire” decal, it was originally equipped with two pickups—a specification later adopted by the Broadcaster model.

The 5-point pickguard is originally a black 1-ply design, but on this instrument, it has been painted white; with use, the original black color becomes visible at the corners, and string shadows have developed, giving it a subtle, vintage look.

It is equipped with two Texas Special pickups—featuring black bobbins and black-and-white or black-and-yellow cross-wound coils—and features a 1-volume, 1-tone, and 3-way selector control. The pots are CTS, and ceramic capacitors are used.

The finish is “Amber Natural,” which replicates the discoloration of the paint caused by aging.
While there are numerous scratches and dents from age and use, approximately 70% of the frets remain, and we have confirmed that the truss rod rotates 60 degrees in both directions.
