Yoshiyuki Kikuchi, who served as Chief Luthier at the Sadowsky Tokyo branch and recently launched Three Dots Guitars.

Combining a wealth of ideas—including know-how gained from years of instrument making and collaborations with numerous musicians—Mr. Kikuchi has created “Kikuchi Guitars” as the culmination of his career.

The “Hermes” series is designed to be accessible to a wider range of players.
While maintaining its proven quality, the series offers affordable prices by limiting certain specifications and color options.

・Features
Neck: To achieve optimal tone and weight balance during play, the neck has been reinforced for strength, and the headstock has been made thicker.
With a nut width narrower than a standard J-style guitar and a neck grip that retains moderate thickness for durability and playability—making it easy to grip firmly—you can play smoothly from the low to the high positions.
To accommodate a variety of playing styles and musical genres, the string action is uniformly set up across all fret positions, delivering a powerful tone for aggressive picking and a warm, enveloping tone for gentle, sweeping fingerstyle playing.

Body: The Dinky shape features a redesigned body contour to allow for stress-free playing even for players with Japanese body types. In addition to its maneuverability for producing modern tones, the solid body—with its moderate weight—delivers a well-defined tone and enables a wide range of tonal variations.

Pickup: It is equipped with a custom DiMarzio model also used in the Custom Series. This is a hum-canceling pickup that delivers a sharp, crisp, and powerful sound while reducing noise.

Preamp: To achieve the ultimate tone envisioned by Kikuchi, this guitar is equipped with an original preamp—the same one used in the Custom Series—developed in collaboration with a world-class design firm.
When the boost is engaged, the bass and treble frequencies remain clear and natural at any setting, while the midrange is scooped; it is designed to minimize perceptible differences in volume and tone quality when switching between passive and active modes.
